The UK faces escalating climate risks, from floods and urban heat to food supply disruptions and ecological degradation. At the Maximising UK Adaptation to Climate Change (MACC) Hub, we are addressing these challenges head-on by advancing transformative climate adaptation strategies that safeguard communities, ecosystems, and the economy. Our mission is to unlock the potential for a well-adapted UK by fostering collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making.
The Maximising UK Adaptation to Climate Change (MACC) Hub responds to the urgent need for a comprehensive, transdisciplinary framework to strengthen the UK’s resilience to cascading climate impacts. Co-funded by UK Research and Innovation and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), the Hub aims to address critical gaps in adaptation planning, implementation, and capacity-building. The Hub will provide evidence-based insights to inform and enhance transformational climate adaptation strategies at both local and national levels by synthesizing cutting-edge research with practical applications.
