Urban Nature Atlas

Summary
The Urban Nature Atlas is the largest knowledge base that collects ideas on nature-based solutions (NBS) in cities worldwide. The goal is to showcase the importance and value of utilising nature-based solutions in cities and to disseminate information on already existing solutions. In addition, it aims to serve as a source of inspiration for actors to implement and utilise NBS in tackling their climate change adaptation efforts. The platform provides an analysis tool which enables users to analyse project characteristics and impacts by comparing different nature-based solutions.
Host organisations: The platform was developed by the Central European University with the Ecologic Institute and is supported by Durham University as part of the Naturvation Project. Partners include Cities with Nature, Interact-Bio, Nature Based Solutions Initiative and ICLEI.
Launch date: 2017
Update status: Ongoing
Funding: The project receives funding from Naturvation, the British Academy, the Asia-Europe Foundation and the EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
